Go into battle in a Yak-52 Russian Air Force Aerobatic Warbird, flying high above the Hunter Valley. During this flight, you will experience a low-level bombing over a dam, incredible and breathtaking aerobatic manoeuvres high in the sky, and a tail chase with another aircraft!

This thrilling flight sees you take on an adversary in a mid-air dogfight, flying high above the beautiful landscapes of the Hunter Valley, in a Yak-52 Russian Air Force Aerobatic Warbird. Your experienced pilot will give you a full pre-flight briefing, including the formation, the mission, and full safety instructions, before you jump on board for an experience that will leave you feeling on top of the world!
On board, your take off will be either formation or stream take-off (wind dependent), from Cessnock Airport. Take in the scenic views of the surrounding Hunter Valley, as you and the second Warbird plane begin the formation positions, as you fly down towards the low flying area for the combat formation over the Brokenback Range, before making a mock bombing attack on a dam. Climb back up to altitude, where you will experience the adrenalin of a one-versus-one tail chase against another Warbird carrying your adversary!
You also get to experience some exciting aerobatics, beginning with the basics, including loops, barrel rolls, stall turns, and if you want to try some more advanced manoeuvres, you can experience 4-point hesitation rolls, cuban 8, porteous loop, slow rolls and vertical rolls.
On your return to base enjoy more air combat as you battle it out in the skies chasing your opponent in the other aircraft. You will manoeuvre on the tail of the other plane whilst going through a series of aerobatic displays of twists and turns as they do the same to you.
Session Length
Please allow 1.5 hours for this experience, which includes 30-40 minutes flying time.
Restrictions
Please check suitability for flying prior to booking, if there are any medical conditions that may impact on your safety or enjoyment, including pregnancy, heart problems, medicated high blood pressure or low blood pressure, or neck or spinal injuries.
Guidelines
- Flights are suitable for people aged 14 years and over
- Minimum weight is 40kg and maximum weight is 110kg
- Participants must not affected by drugs or alcohol prior to this experience
- Before undertaking your flight you will be required to sign a disclaimer form
Cancellation
- Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
- Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
- Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

For those flying -OR- If purchasing this as a GIFT CERTIFICATE - Please take note that BY LAW we must inform you that military aircraft are built and tested to different standards than that put forward by the Civil Aviation Safety Administration (CASA) or any equivalent international civil aviation governing body. As such, in accordance with Civil Aviation Safety Regulation Parts 132.140, 150 and 132.155. The design, manufacture and airworthiness of the aircraft are not required to meet the same standard recognised by CASA. The passenger agrees to participate in this flight at his or her own risk. A more detailed briefing will be provided to the passenger before they board the aircraft.
